DRC-Turkey: Tshisekedi to Meet with Erdogan in Early May

Turkish Foreign Ministry Denies News About the Possibility of Repealing the Agreement with The Sudan on The “Suakin Island”

“Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) is restoring the artifacts from the Ottoman period in Suakin Island, Sudan. The news about the issue has nothing to do with the truth,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman said.Some media outlets, especially Arab media, had alleged that the agreement on Suakin Island between Sudan and Turkey could be cancelled.Turkey has promised to rebuild the island which the Ottoman Empire used as a port to secure access to what was then called the Hejaz province—now western Saudi Arabia—from invaders coming from the Red Sea.

Tanzania National Day Celebrated in Ankara

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli attended the reception held at the Hilton Hotel due to the Tanzania National Day. Turkey’s historical ties with Tanzania, which is the Pakdemirli stressed that as an important partner in Africa, said they closely followed by Tanzania’s economic development efforts. Pakdemirli, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Tanzania in 2017, stressing that give a new impetus to relations between the two countries, Tanzania, the same year expressed their satisfaction with the open embassy in Turkey.
