Thousands have signed an Online petition asking Ivory Coast‘s ministry of culture to use the country’s biggest stadium for DJ Arafat‘s funeral.
He died on Monday morning after a motorbike accident in Abidjan. He was 33.
The musician, whose real name was Ange Didier Huon, was known as the king of the Ivorian dance music genre coupé-décalé.
More than 65,000 people have signed the petition on change.org asking for the use of Félix
Houphouet Boigny stadium to be used for the funeral.
It says the musician, through his talent “flew the flag” for Ivory Coast.
