The World Bank said Tuesday that Tanzania’s economy will grow by 5.8% in 2020, compared to 5.6% in 2020, a figure that would be 6.1% in 2021.
President John Magufuli’s government has invested billions of dollars in an ambitious industrialization movement that includes the construction of a new railway line, the revival of the national airline and a hydroelectric power plant investment.
However, government intervention in sectors such as mining and agriculture led to a decline in foreign investment in East Africa’s third-largest economy.
