In Sudan, the ruling military and protest leaders on Sunday signed a constitutional declaration that is expected to pave the way for the transfer of power to a largely civilian transitional body.

Sudan’s ruling military and protest leaders signed a constitutional declaration on Sunday (August 4th).

It is intended to pave the way for the transfer of power to a new transitional body, which will be at the head of the country for three years.

Ahmed al-Rabie, one of the main leaders of the protest, and Mohammed Hamdan Daglo, number two of the ruling Military Council, signed the declaration at a ceremony.
