Archaeologists discovered 30 old wooden coffins in Luxor. There were mummies in coffins.
Mostafa Waziri, secretary-general of the Council of Antiquities, said that these mummies were the largest of discoveries made of the last century and the last coffin is found in 1881. Waziri had difficulty finding words to describe the excitement.
Coffins had been discolored for 3000 years and not been gnawed by termites. They were found in front of the Temple of Hatshepsut in the Valley of the Kings in Luxor.
