The National Basketball Association (NBA) has opened a new basketball court in Kigali, Rwanda’s capital.

The initiative aims to expand Junior NBA programs, teach life skills and build new basketball courts in the East African country. The program is part of a new, multi-year partnership announced last month in Morocco, which uses the transformative power of basketball to empower Moroccan and Rwandan youth and communities.

Jerome Williams said: “The NBA uses this program to build leadership, life skills and a sense of community.”
